BACKGROUND

 

Paktya borders the Pakistani-Ruled Tribal Areas of North Waziristan and Kurram. Like most of the traditional Pashtun eastern areas of Afghanistan, the Durand Line that marks the border with Pakistan is "drawn on water", and residents move freely between the two countries.

 

Border police stations are designed to control the Afghanistan region and will be left to Afghan people. In addition to areas being unsecure also the terrain is though. This region has very tough mountains and the climate is challenging. The local material availability is limited. And there is no logistic services except the contractor’s trucks.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 

This project consists of the design and construction of site improvements and construction of facilities to support the Afghanistan National Border Police (ANBP) Units in Afghanistan. This project is defined as the management, design, material, labor, and equipment to design and construct and/or refurbish all utilities, roads, buildings, force protection measures, site security, de-mining activities.

Steel Structure DOD certified buildings of DFAC, Training building and ECP and other buildings are latrine, barracks, Administration Building, Ammunition Supply, guard towers, gate house and a well house and organic waste disposal system. Also the complex is powered by a generator.
